PTA Executive Board

The committees are made up of members of the PTA and lead by the committee officers.  Contact a PTA officer by email below. 

 

President - Mindee Forman (Claire S4 and Sean SK)

The president shall:
a. preside at all meetings of this local PTA, board of directors;
*b.serve as an ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating committee and the financial review/audit committee;
c. coordinate the work of the officers and committees of this local PTA in order that the purposes may be promoted;
d. perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the board of directors ;
e. appoint standing and special committee chairs with the approval of the board of directors, with the exception of the nominating and financial review/audit committees chairmen; and
f. appoint special committees, as needed, with the approval of the board of directors.

President-Elect - TBD

The president-elect shall:
a. serve as aide to the president;
b. perform the duties of the president in the president’s absence or inability to serve; 
c. serve as ex officio member of committees in consultation with the president; and
d. perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the 
parliamentary authority, or directed by the president or the board of directors.

Treasurer - Elena Podkorytova (Sofia SK)

The treasurer shall:
*a. have custody of the funds of this local PTA;
*b. maintain a full account of the funds of this local PTA;
*c. make disbursements as authorized by the president, the board of directors or the 
membership of this local PTA in accordance with the budget adopted by this local PTA;
*d. be one of the signatories on all PTA accounts. Signers of PTA accounts cannot
have disbursement authority over school/school district funds; 
*e. cause to be kept a full and accurate account of the receipts and disbursements in the 
books belonging to the DLS PTA;
*f. provide a financial report to the board of directors and the membership at each meeting;
*g. provide an annual report of the financial condition of the organization to the membership 
at the meeting following the financial review/audit;
*h. submit the books annually for a financial review/audit by an auditor or a financial review 
committee selected by the board of directors. A check signatory may not be the auditor or 
a member of the committee. The financial review must be completed within thirty (30) 
days of the close of the fiscal year. A report of the completed review will be presented to 
the board of directors for adoption at the first general board meeting following the 
completion of the review, and a copy will be submitted to the Colorado PTA; and
*i. perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the 
parliamentary authority, or directed by the president or the board of directors.

Secretary - Madhavi Gupta-Dyen (Anjeli S2)

The secretary shall:
a. record the minutes of all meetings of the DLS PTA board of directors;
b. be prepared to read the records of any previous meetings;
c. file and maintain all records;
d. have a current approved copy of the bylaws;
e. maintain a current membership list; and
f. perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the
parliamentary authority, or directed by the president, or the board of directors.

Communications (Facebook) - Mark Donaldson-Lee (Alex MK)
Communications (Newsletter) - Erin Reynolds (Greta SK)
Communications (Website) - Kellie Dotson (John M2)

The communications officers shall: 
a. create a communications strategy and process that will support the needs of the DLS 
PTA;
b. oversee the implementation of the communications channels that strategically support 
contact among the parties;
c. promote DLS PTA membership meetings, activities, and initiatives.

School Support - Jayme Willie (Susannah S3, Addison MK), Erin Talburt (Emilia S3)

The school support coordinators shall:
a. support the needs of the school community in the areas of parent education and teacher 
and staff appreciation;
b. foster a healthy environment within the DLS community that promotes good nutrition and 
exercise to enhance academic success
c. Foster a sense of community, including but not limited to encouraging close bonds 
between the Spanish and Mandarin programs.

Spanish Liaisons - Maria Casaverde-Marin (Francesca S1), Jen Noonan (Liam S1)

The Spanish liaison officers shall:
a. collaborate with the Spanish Director;
b. oversee Spanish room parents to provide support to the Spanish program and its 
community.

Mandarin Liaison 
Babette Hudson-Tsao (Lydia M2, Jensen M2), Theresa Helbach (Elena M2, Cordelia MK)

The Mandarin liaison officers shall:
a. collaborate with the Mandarin Director;
b. oversee Mandarin room parents to provide support to the Mandarin program and its 
community.

FundraisingAmanda Breault (William S2, Amelia S1)
fundraising@dlspta.org

The fundraising officers shall:
a. establish broad fundraising goals, in consultation with the board of directors;
b. oversee the execution of fundraising activities to meet the fundraising goals of the DLS 
PTA;
c. communicate with the treasurer to ensure accurate accounting, budget planning, and 
funds delivered.

Volunteer Coordinators - Wendy Green, Kate Kelley (Rhys M2)
volunteers@dlspta.org

The volunteer coordinators shall: 
a. oversee volunteer recruitment to obtain volunteers for DLS PTA committees and 
activities.

Green Team Liaison - Victoria Grotewiel (Izzy S4, Arabel S1), Jeff Miller (Zack M3, Arianna M1)

The green team liaison shall: 
a. act as the contact between the DLS PTA and the DLS Green Team.

DLS Dads Liaison - Jeffrey Martinez (S8, S5, S4)

The DLS Dads Liaison shall:
a. serve as the contact between the DLS PTA and the DLS Dads group.

Member At-Large - Ali Valverde (Ben S2, Nico SK)

The At-Large Member shall:
a. serve as a liaison to the Development Trust and Advisory Committee (DTAC) and assist or cover for other PTA Executive Board members during absences or particularly busy times.
