Dan Baack, President, 2012 -2013

Dan Baack is new to Denver. Having lived in all four time zones, his family and he feel excited to lay down roots (finally!). While a new job as an associate professor of marketing at the University of Denver motivated the move, Dan quickly fell in love with the city. One of the best of many great things about living in Denver is the Denver Language School. With a Taiwanese wife, it is important that Dan’s three children learn Mandarin. Andy and Emilee are in second grade while his youngest, Jason, is in kindergarten.

Having traveled throughout East Asia, including nine trips to family in Taiwan, Dan knows some Mandarin. He uses it during weekly basketball games with a group of DU Chinese students and Chinese professionals in town. Unfortunately, his children have forbidden him from using it at home!

As President, Dan presides over PTO meetings and Officers, serves as the primary contact for the school administration, represents the organization at meetings outside the organization, serves as an ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating committee and coordinates the work of all the officers so the purpose of the organization is served.
