Welcome! The mission of the PTA is to improve the education provided to DLS students by supporting the school and its activities. The PTA helps to fund a wish list of items from the school as well as many additional activities that make our school such a wonderful place. The success of the PTA is directly linked to the participation of parents, so we strongly encourage everyone to be involved this year.

When you join the DLS PTA with your annual $15 fee, you make great events like Night Market and Kickball Tournament possible. Without insurance, purchased with PTA membership fee funds, fun PTA events cannot take place.

How do I get Involved?

The PTA is a volunteer-driven organization. There are many ways to be involved. There are activities that can accommodate any schedule and skill set. Each family is asked to volunteer 15 hours every school year.
Click here to learn more. Joining the PTA counts as one hour - get started here!

What do you get when you join the DLS PTA with your annual $15 fee? Membership in a community dedicated to your child’s education and growth. Support the DLS PTA, the Colorado PTA, and your child’s community by signing up online here.

Please volunteer!

Clothing Drive for Place Bridge Academy

Place Bridge Academy is a magnet school in the Denver Public School district that the Denver Language School PTA is looking to partner with. PBA has more than 1,000 students in grades ECE-4 through 8th grade.  As a designated newcomer center, more than 60 different languages and over 40 different countries from around the world are represented in the student body.

The school does not have a parent teacher organization in place but has many needs. The DLS PTA would like to help with their most pressing request: clothing. The kids at the school wear uniforms, but many have just one or two that they wear throughout the week. We are asking for donations of new and used clothing in good condition for ages 4 through 13.

    • Khaki pants
    • Khaki shorts
    • Khaki jumpers
    • Polo shirts - white, navy blue, and baby blue colors only (no logo needed)
    • Athletic shoes in plain colors such as black or grey
    • Winter clothing
The DLS PTA will have collection bins at both DLS West and DLS East. Please make sure all clothing is washed and in good condition prior to drop off, and thank you!

NEW: Meet Our Sponsor, Kids Central

Kids Central is a nationally broadcast cable channel for children and families. Owned and operated by Condista Networks: a team of 4 entrepreneurs, including a Denver Language School Dad. Since the early 2000s, our company has launched Spanish-language TV channels in the U.S. and now we introduce our first English language channel, Kids Central. Television is a great escape. It’s fun to kick back and watch the latest show or the Broncos, but there should be some balance. Television is one of the most powerful communication and learning tools and we believe high-value, fun entertainment with learning opportunities is the core of our channel. Kids Central is our attempt to put that balance on TV: fun programs that still provide information and learning in both English and Spanish. Kids Central content is in English but all of our content is available in Spanish via SAP (Secondary Audio Programming). We hope you and your kids enjoy the programs we have selected for the channel and we look forward to hearing your feedback.

Kids Central is available in Denver through Comcast on channel 597. During the day, Kids Central programming focuses on kids 3-7+ years old.  During primetime, Kids Central opens the screen for the entire family in a block branded as Family Central.

NEW: Do You Facebook? So Do We!

Do you find it hard to read all the news coming from the school? Our DLS PTA Facebook page cuts up news coming from both DLS and the PTA into bite-sized chunks. You’ll also find events you can share with your friends, such as restaurant nights, that benefit our entire community. You can set it so that you receive notifications whenever the page posts or whenever an event is added so you don’t have to keep a close eye on it.

Not on Facebook? You can view and keep an eye on the page even if you don’t have an account.

There is also an unofficial “Denver Language School Alumni and Friends”group for more informal conversations and questions. Join the conversation!

Facebook questions? Email communications@dlspta.org. DLS-specific questions or school-related issues? Please contact your teacher or the school itself rather than post your question to Facebook.

Students can deposit box tops in collection boxes in their classrooms.

There will be three competitions to collect the most box tops this year, each with surprise rewards, so start saving them now! Learn more about the program and participating products at BTFE.com.
